Isaac, Meredith and I took our annual fishing trip on my cousin’s charter boat in Biloxi , MS on 29 June 2009.  This year’s highlight was a 40+ pound black-tip shark, and he was good eatin’!  Check out my cousin Steve West’s charter business at http://mrchampcharters.com/.

We had a great time with Fynn, Nico, Garrett, Arash, and Tommy learning how to write computer games.  The boys learned basic concepts of control structures, coordinate systems, conditional logic, object-based programming, parallel programming, and modularity in program design.  Hats off to the Scratch project, which made all of this easy.

Meredith summoned me to the deck to show me a trail of pixie dust leading to her fairy bait.  She doesn’t want to capture a fairy, only to meet and befriend one.

Isaac and I had a great time riding Big Creek while Meredith visited with Ellie on May 20th.

I suppose I should inform those who don’t yet know about our new family structure.  Jara and I divorced amicably in April 2009.  The kids and I are still at the Kinridge Trail address with the same phone numbers, and Jara kept her mobile number.  Rather than maintaining all the content I had on the simpkins.org web site I decided to finally give blogging a try, mainly because there are so many things the kids do that geographically distant family and friends would find interesting.  So check back or use the RSS feed to keep up to date on stuff I bother to blog about.
